The Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative (LOGI) announces today the appointment of Mr. Marjo Louw as a new advisor on its board, effective immediately.
Mr. Louw has over 38 years of corporate leadership experience across the globe. He served as Country President at Sasol Qatar until October 2015. Prior to taking the reins of the Qatar operation, Marjo was General Manager, Sasol New Energy in Johannesburg, and Managing Director of Sasol Chemicals Pacific Ltd in Singapore.
Louw worked globally for 27 years, also living in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe. During his career Marjo managed, advised and served on boards of various international companies, advisory councils and has been an active member of business chambers and associations in several regions. His professional experience spans research and development, human resources, project management, marketing and sales, business establishment, JV management and General Management.
Related to his professional interests, Marjo has been a frequent speaker at energy and petrochemical congresses and a lecturer at business schools on the topic of global leadership and cultural competence. A proud South African, Marjo is a graduate in Physical Chemistry and Business. He is married with two grown children. In his spare time, he enjoys the great outdoors, golf, reading, travelling and history.
Marjo Louw shares his perspective on Lebanon’s nascent petroleum industry by saying: “the development and monetization of the gas resources in Lebanon have the potential to benefit the whole nation, limit dependence on others, reduce pollution and create economic development in the country and region. It is a privilege to get involved with LOGI with the aim to support their objectives and hopefully bring forward such developments.”
