About Our Partners
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is the oldest political foundation in Germany with a rich tradition in social democracy dating back to its foundation in 1925. The foundation owes its formation and its mission to the political legacy of its namesake Friedrich Ebert, the first democratically elected German President. FES office in Beirut opened its doors since 1966. Within the framework of its regional Climate and Energy project, FES Lebanon works on developing policies and research to ensure a socially just energy transition as well as to secure environmentally friendly exploitation of natural resources. FES works on facilitating the work of local NGOs and linking them to the needed expertise in order to adopt best practices within the Oil and Gas sector in Lebanon in what preserves the rights and the wealth of future generations.
