LOGI Announces Diana Kaissy as Executive Director

The Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative (LOGI) announces the hiring of Diana Kaissy as its full-time executive director.

Diana brings nearly 10 years experience leading non-profit organizations in Lebanon to the LOGI team, half of which in the oil and gas sector. Since 2012 Diana served as Regional coordinator for Middle East and North Africa and Asia Pacific/liaison Papua New Guinea for Publish What You Pay, a non-profit organization leading a global campaign that advocates for transparency and accountability as well as the good governance of natural resources. Diana previously was Lebanon’s country director for Palestine Association of Children Encouragement of Sports (PACES), a non-profit charity organization providing after-school sports programs for Palestinian girls and boys in the Lebanese refugee camps.

Diana was born and raised in Beirut, is fluent in Arabic and English and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Foundation (ABD) from the American University of Beirut. She is a board member of PACES and was a member of LOGI’s advisory board from 2014 until her hiring.

Diana Kaissy said “it is an honor to be offered the unique opportunity to join the Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative as its executive director. With Lebanon’s oil and gas sector currently taking shape, LOGI has managed to quickly position itself as a key influencer and leading advocate of good governance in the sector. I will be putting to use all of my national, regional, and global expertise in strengthening and empowering civil society so it can dynamically engage in monitoring and managing Lebanon’s oil and gas sector.”

President of LOGI, Georges Sassine, added that “Diana Kaissy has been a unique partner to LOGI as a member of its advisory board for the past three years. As the sector gears up to its first licensing round, this is a critical moment to ensure the right policy and transparency mechanisms are in place and implemented. An informed and engaged citizen base and civil society will be vital to help avoid the resource curse. Diana brings unique local and global expertise to help us step up LOGI’s activities and magnify our impact on the ground."

The LOGI team is honored to have Diana join as its executive director. LOGI will benefit from her leadership at this critical juncture as it helps build the sector.
