Lebanon is taking steps towards becoming an energy producing country.
Natural gas has been found off the coast of Lebanon, and 52 international companies have so far submitted
applications to drill for oil and gas in the discovered fields.
By the end of 2015 after applications are accepted and licensing and contracting takes place Lebanon will have commenced its first oil exploration, and will begin production soon afterwards, according to caretaker Water and Energy Minister Gibran Bassil.
